South Burnett CTC Inc (CTC) is a reputable not-for-profit community organisation focused on providing essential support to disadvantaged individuals and families across various services including Foster Care, Youth & Family Services, and Domestic Violence Services. With teams operating throughout the South Burnett region, we aim to uplift and empower our communities through dedicated and compassionate service.

Our Safe Haven program is designed specifically to address the needs of the Cherbourg community, aiming to reduce the impact of family violence and support children, young people, and their families in fostering resilience and safety.

Position Overview

The Family Support Worker plays a crucial role in providing tailored support to families affected by domestic and family violence. You will be responsible for managing a caseload, developing safety plans, and facilitating access to essential services. Through both individual and group sessions, you will empower families with the skills and knowledge necessary for positive change.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to culturally sensitive practise and community engagement. You should have experience in case management and program delivery, particularly within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

  • Proven ability to work with diverse families and individuals.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in partnering with local organisations and stakeholders.
  • Capability to manage time effectively and maintain accurate records.

As a Family Support Worker, you will be a proactive advocate for families, working collaboratively with community members to enhance support systems and deliver impactful programs.

Salary & Benefits

The position is classified under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 (SCHADS) at Level 3, with a competitive hourly rate of $40.49. Additional benefits include salary packaging and opportunities for professional development.
