Senior Human Resources Officer

South Burnett CTC is seeking a Senior Human Resources Officer to play a pivotal role in supporting our leaders and workforce with expert HR guidance and practical people management support across a diverse community services organisation.

About the Role

The Senior Human Resources Officer plays an important role in supporting our people and leaders, working closely with teams to build strong people management practices and promote fair, consistent, and positive workplace outcomes.

In this role, you will

  • Provide timely, accurate and practical HR advice on policies, procedures, awards and best practice people management
  • Partner with leaders to build capability, coaching them to manage performance, conduct, attendance and workplace concerns—from early intervention through to formal processes
  • Lead complex employee relations matters, including investigations, disciplinaries, performance management, medical capacity and dispute resolution
  • Ensure all processes are managed with procedural fairness, equity and transparency for all parties
  • Interpret and apply industrial instruments and legislation to support sound, compliant decision-making

This is a hands-on role requiring confidence, sound judgement and the ability to manage sensitive matters with professionalism and care.

About You

You are a confident, experienced HR practitioner who brings both technical expertise and a strong partnering approach. 

To be successful, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business (or equivalent experience)
  • Significant, demonstrated experience in HR within the community services sector
  • Proven experience interpreting and applying the SCHADS Award, Supported Employment Services Award and Fair Work Act
  • Strong capability in managing complex and sensitive employee relations matters
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence, coach and build trust with leaders at all levels
  • A commitment to fairness, inclusion and respectful workplaces

Salary & Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 (SCHADS), classified at Social and Community Services Worker Level 6 – $55.72 per hour, plus access to not for profit salary packaging options to maximise your take-home pay.
