Position Overview

The Roster Officer plays a critical role in coordinating, implementing, and managing the roster for Disability Support Workers, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with industry standards. This position includes the organisation of monthly Group Nights and quarterly Day Trips for participants, enhancing their engagement and experience.

In addition to roster management, the Roster Officer serves as the first point of contact for participants and stakeholders, delivering professional communication and support across all channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain rosters that reflect participant needs and staff availability, ensuring shifts are published four weeks in advance.
  • Coordinate logistics for Group Nights and Day Trips, including venue bookings, risk assessments, and transport arrangements.
  • Ensure compliance with staffing regulations and guidelines, including monitoring changes in participant needs and workforce availability.
  • Provide training and support to On Call staff regarding rostering processes and system updates.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of relevant qualifications and experience in roster management or administration, alongside strong communication skills. A proficiency in IT programs, including Microsoft 365, is essential, as is the ability to understand and apply regulations related to the SCHADS Award and NDIS.

  • Qualifications or expertise in roster management and administration.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new IT systems and processes.
  • Understanding of NDIS and SCHADS Award regulations or willingness to learn.

Additionally, candidates should demonstrate a commitment to cultural safety, time management, and flexibility to adjust work hours as needed to meet service demands.

Salary and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary based on the SCHADS Award at Level 3.1 ($38.65 per hour), with opportunities for salary packaging. The role is available on a full-time (38 hours) or part-time basis, with flexible working hours to support client needs.
