Position Overview

The Youth Worker within the Transition Team will play a crucial role in supporting young individuals transitioning from State Care to independence. This position involves engaging with young people, assisting them in developing personalised transition plans, and providing the necessary support to achieve their independence goals.

As a Youth Worker, you will work closely with the Department of Child Safety and other stakeholders to ensure that each young person receives tailored support suited to their unique needs and aspirations.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess a passion for youth work and a strong commitment to making a difference in the lives of young people. You will need to demonstrate effective communication skills, cultural awareness, and a collaborative spirit.

  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Youth Work, Community Services, or a similar field is desirable.
  • Current Queensland Driver’s Licence.
  • Ability to obtain First Aid, CPR, and Bronze Medallion Certificates.
  • Working with Children Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Check.

Your time management skills will be essential in ensuring case notes and documentation are completed accurately and on time. The ability to be flexible with working hours, including availability for occasional out-of-hours engagements, will be necessary to meet the needs of clients.

Salary & Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary of $38.65 per hour, aligned with the Social and Community Services Worker Level 3 under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010. Salary packaging options are available to enhance your overall compensation.
