South Burnett CTC Inc (CTC) is a not-for-profit community organisation committed to supporting disadvantaged individuals across various age groups and backgrounds. Our services encompass Foster Care, Residential Care, Youth & Family Services, Domestic and Family Violence Services, and Disability Services, along with our Gumnut Place Social Enterprise.

Operating across the South Burnett area from Kingaroy, Wondai, Nanango, and Murgon, we manage a diverse portfolio of assets that require effective upkeep and management to support our mission of community service.

Position Overview

The Maintenance Officer plays a crucial role in the upkeep, repair, and safety of CTC’s buildings, facilities, and grounds. This position is responsible for ensuring that all properties are well-maintained, compliant with safety regulations, and provide a secure environment for staff, clients, and visitors. Reporting to the Corporate Services Coordinator, the Maintenance Officer will handle general repairs and maintenance tasks as required.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Maintenance Officer who possesses a strong set of skills and experience to meet the demands of the role.

  • Demonstrated hands on experience in general maintenance or a related trade.
  • Trade qualifications in building, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, or similar (desirable for Level 3 rate consideration).
  • Solid knowledge of building systems, tools, equipment, and safe work practises.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills for positive interactions with clients, staff, and contractors.
  • Ability to manage tasks independently while prioritising effectively.
  • Current Queensland Driver’s Licence and ability to obtain necessary screenings (Working with Children Blue Card, NDIS Worker Screening Check).
  • Be willing and able to attend and pass a physical assessment test 

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment, uphold cultural sensitivity, and be flexible in adjusting to the needs of the organisation.

Salary and Benefits

The Maintenance Officer position offers casual pay rates starting at $43.23 per hour, with potential for increased compensation based on qualifications and experience. There is also an opportunity for conversion to a permanent position after six months of employment.
