South Burnett CTC Inc (CTC) is a not-for-profit community organisation dedicated to providing essential support services to disadvantaged individuals and families across the South Burnett region. Our programs encompass a range of areas, including Foster Care, Residential Care, Community Services, Domestic and Family Violence Services, Disability Services, and our Gumnut Place Social Enterprise.

Position Overview

The Housing Support Worker will play a vital role within the Housing and Homelessness Services team, delivering assistance to staff and clients through case management activities. This position involves tracking referrals, appointments, accommodation applications and stays, and maintaining necessary documentation, including financial records related to brokerage funds.

Key responsibilities include facilitating short-term and emergency accommodation bookings, supporting clients in transitioning to longer-term housing solutions, and maintaining accurate and confidential client records. The Housing Support Worker will also assist in data entry and reporting requirements while ensuring effective referral connections to external services.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Relevant qualifications in community work, human services, or a related field.
  • Experience in community services or social work, particularly with complex clients.
  • Familiarity with housing and rental systems, including employment assistance and Centrelink.
  • Strong engagement and communication skills, with a commitment to cultural awareness.
  • Current Queensland Driver’s Licence.
  • First Aid/CPR certifications.
  • Working with Children Blue Card
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check

Salary & Benefits

This is a casual position offering approximately 15 hours per week at a competitive rate of $48.31 per hour, in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 (SCHADS) at Level 3.1. Salary packaging options are also available to enhance your earnings.
