Position Overview

The Family Support Practitioner plays a crucial role in the RENEW Intensive Family Support program, engaging with families facing multiple complex challenges. The practitioner will utilise a strengths-based approach to develop and implement family-led case plans, ensuring the safety and well-being of children through practical in-home support and collaboration with various service providers.

As a Family Support Practitioner, you will work directly with families to assess their needs and provide essential services, including routine development, meal planning, budgeting, and parenting support. You will be responsible for leading case management and collaborating with stakeholders to set and achieve family goals.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills and a solid understanding of complex family dynamics. You should be adept at engaging hard-to-reach families and have experience in case management within a social services context.

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Human Services, or a related field.
  • Experience addressing issues related to domestic violence, substance abuse, and mental health.
  • Proficient in compiling case notes, safety plans, and risk assessments.
  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation and frameworks in child protection and family support.

As a Family Support Practitioner, you will be dedicated to fostering positive relationships with families and ensuring their needs are met with empathy and professionalism.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive hourly rate of $44.58 in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, along with salary packaging options.
