Position Overview

The Senior Youth Worker at Beemar Yumba plays a crucial role in supporting children and young people in residential care. This position demands a proactive approach to help residents achieve their individual goals and integrate into the community. The role also involves administrative responsibilities to ensure compliance with licencing requirements and the implementation of care plans.

As a part of a 7-day/24-hour roster, the Senior Youth Worker will be expected to participate in on-call duties, providing essential support during various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess a blend of qualifications, experience, and personal attributes that align with the responsibilities of this role.

  • Qualifications in Child, Youth and Family Intervention, Social Work, or a related field (or currently pursuing).
  • Proven experience in Residential Care or relevant sectors, demonstrating strong engagement skills with clients and stakeholders.
  • Current Queensland Open Driver’s Licence and First Aid, CPR, Working with Children (Blue Card), NDIS Worker Screening Check, and Bronze Medallion Certificates (or ability to obtain).
  • Ability to maintain a positive, culturally sensitive approach in interactions with stakeholders.

Salary & Benefits

This part-time position offers a competitive hourly wage of $38.65, in accordance with the SCHADS Award, along with salary packaging opportunities. Additional benefits include access to professional development and a supportive work environment.
