About South Burnett CTC Inc

South Burnett CTC Inc is a not-for-profit community organisation dedicated to providing support to individuals from all backgrounds and ages. We specialise in various services, including Foster Care, Youth & Family Services, and Disability Services, operating throughout the South Burnett area from locations in Kingaroy, Wondai, Nanango, and Murgon.

Our program, The Gumnut Place, functions as a Social Enterprise offering a range of services such as a wood workshop, commercial kitchen, laundry, trophy engraving, and secure document destruction. Our dedicated team includes supported employees and volunteers who are guided by skilled Business Managers and Coordinators.

Position Overview

The Disability Support Worker plays a crucial role in ensuring a safe and productive environment for Supported Employees and volunteers. This position involves providing supervision, training, and support across various business units to facilitate individual growth and productivity.

Key responsibilities include monitoring safety, assisting with day-to-day production, maintaining quality control, and fostering effective communication within the team. The role requires flexibility to adapt to operational needs while delivering exceptional support to all people in the workplace.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess a passion for community service and a commitment to enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities. You will be able to demonstrate:

  • A qualification or the ability to obtain a Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (or equivalent).
  • Experience in providing support, training, and supervision to individuals with disabilities or the willingness to learn.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • A current Queensland manual driver’s licence and willingness to acquire necessary certifications.

Salary & Benefits

The salary for this position is based on the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 (SCHADS) at Level 2, with a pay rate of $34.58 per hour plus opportunities for salary packaging. Additional benefits may be available, and the role offers the chance to be part of a supportive and dynamic team.
