Position Overview

The Student Wellbeing Officer at Cherbourg State School plays a crucial role in providing social, emotional, and educational support to students. This role is designed to foster positive relationships and encourage engagement with the community, ultimately aiding in the overall wellbeing of students, parents, and staff.

Funded through various government programs, this position contributes to a supportive school environment and helps identify and assist at-risk students in a proactive manner.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will possess a blend of qualifications, skills, and personal attributes to effectively fulfill the responsibilities of the role.

  • Certificate IV (or higher) in Youth Work, Pastoral Care, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated understanding of personal and professional boundaries.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of all stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in time management and IT skills.

Candidates must also hold a Working with Children Blue Card and be prepared to meet any future legislative requirements. Cultural sensitivity and awareness are vital to upholding community support and engagement.

Salary & Benefits

This casual position offers a competitive rate of $41.76 per hour under the SCHCADS Award, along with salary packaging options.
