Position Overview
The Domestic and Family Violence Specialist will primarily be based at the Kingaroy Police Station, providing essential support to victim-survivors of domestic and family violence. This role involves assessing individual needs, safety planning, and facilitating advocacy and referral services to ensure the wellbeing of clients.
As part of the Wondin-dee Domestic and Family Violence Specialist Service, you will collaborate with other organizations to deliver a client-centered approach that prioritises safety and empowerment.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a qualified and experienced professional with a strong commitment to supporting individuals affected by domestic and family violence.
- Minimum three-year degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
- Proven experience working in high-risk domestic violence scenarios.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation such as the Domestic and Family Violence Protection Act 2012.
- Ability to maintain personal and client safety while navigating complex client issues.
The ideal candidate will also have excellent communication skills, a commitment to cultural sensitivity, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team and with external partners.
Salary & Benefits
This full-time position offers an attractive salary of $43.08 per hour (level 4 of the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award) plus salary packaging options. Employees will enjoy a supportive work environment with opportunities for professional growth and development.
A relocation incentive package of $3,300 may be provided for the successful applicant.
