South Burnett CTC Inc is a not-for-profit community organisation committed to supporting disadvantaged individuals across all demographics. Our services encompass a wide range of areas including Foster Care, Residential Care, Youth & Family Services, Domestic and Family Violence Services, and Disability Services. We have a strong presence in the South Burnett region with teams operating in Kingaroy, Wondai, Nanango, and Murgon.
Our Immediate Housing Response and Safe and Secure programs focus on providing temporary accommodation and support to those experiencing homelessness, along with enhancing disaster resilience among vulnerable populations in our community.
Position Overview
The Housing Support Worker plays a crucial role in delivering outreach to people who are rough sleeping. This position involves working across both the Immediate Housing Response and Safe and Secure programs to provide case management to people with a focus on supporting them support to achieve safe, secure and sustainable housing.
The successful candidate will engage with clients through outreach, assist with case management, and provide necessary resources to promote safe and secure housing transitions.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in community services or related fields, showcasing the following qualifications and skills:
- Relevant qualifications in community work, human services, or a related discipline
- Experience in community engagement, social work, or similar fields
- Proficient in navigating housing, rental, and employment assistance systems
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage with complex clients
- Hold a valid Queensland Driver’s License and current First Aid and CPR certificates along with Working with Children Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Check
Additionally, candidates should demonstrate cultural awareness, effective time management, and the ability to maintain accurate records in accordance with organizational standards.
Salary & Benefits
This position offers a salary of $37.35 per hour (level 3.1), adhering to the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, along with opportunities for salary packaging. The flexible working hours will be negotiated based on client needs.
