South Burnett CTC Inc (CTC) is a not-for-profit community organisation dedicated to supporting disadvantaged individuals and families across various services including Foster Care, Residential Care, and Youth & Family Services. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for people of all backgrounds and ages in the South Burnett area, operating from multiple locations including Kingaroy, Wondai, Nanango, and Murgon.
Through our Safe Haven program, we specifically support families living in or connected to Cherbourg, focusing on reducing the impact of family violence on children and families. Our team is committed to providing immediate safety responses and empowering families with skills and resources.
Position Overview
The Support Worker will play a crucial role in the Safe Haven program, working alongside Family Support Workers to deliver essential services to families and young people. This position involves meeting clients in various settings, including homes and community spaces, and facilitating programs that support life skills development.
Support Workers will contribute to case planning and provide practical assistance, guided by established Case Plans developed by Family Support Workers. This role is vital in fostering a safe and supportive environment for those affected by family violence.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, cultural awareness, and a commitment to community engagement.
- Established connection to the Cherbourg community
- Ability to deliver culturally appropriate support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families
- Year 12 education or equivalent, or nearing completion
- Willingness to obtain relevant certifications, including First Aid and CPR, Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Check
Salary & Benefits
This position offers a salary as per the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, with an hourly rate of $25.69 plus salary packaging options to enhance your take-home pay.
